Directors will:

  • Be an advocate for the Central West and Outback region

  • Consider the environmental, economic & social regional benefits in discussions

  • Practice open and transparent communication

  • Aim for outcomes by consensus

  • Remain informed on all RAPAD matters and make informed decisions

  • Act for regional equity

  • Act ethically, in the interests of the board, and at all times ensure knowledge of, and application of high levels of, corporate governance

  • Act as a link between the Board and their local government

  • Be apolitical when on the Board.

The Central Western Queensland Remote Area Planning and Development Board (RAPAD) is a unified local government organisation which aims to assist and facilitate the growth and development of our Central West and wider Outback region. By working together member local governments are united in their desire to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

GOVERNANCE GOVERNANCE

Structurally, RAPAD is an ASIC listed company. Governance is via a board of directors, representing the member local governments: Barcaldine Regional Council, Barcoo Shire Council, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, Boulia Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, Longreach Regional Council and Winton Shire Council.
