Governance Structurally, RAPAD is an ASIC listed company. Governance is via a board of directors, representing the member local governments, which presently stands at seven. These are: Barcaldine Regional Council, Barcoo Shire Council, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, Boulia Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, Longreach Regional Council and Winton Shire Council. Region RAPAD covers an area of some 385,000klm2, encompassing 17 towns in 7 local government areas viz.: Barcaldine Regional Council, Barcoo Shire Council, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, Boulia Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, Longreach Regional Council, and Winton Shire Council. The regional population is approximately 15,000 spread between townships and some 1,300 rural properties. Member Council   
Directors Each member shire council elects a representative to be a director of the board. These are as follows:
- Barcaldine - Cr Rob Chandler
- Barcoo - Cr Bruce Scott
- Blackall - Cr Jan Ross
- Boulia - Cr Rick Britten
- Diamantina - Cr Rob Dare
- Longreach - Cr John Palmer
- Winton - Cr Ed Warren
Partnerships RAPAD is also a Regional Organisation of Councils (ROC) and as such, we have an operating protocol with the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ). The RAPAD Board members of the Central West ROC (in effect the RAPAD members) have resolved to confer all roles and responsibilities of their ROC upon RAPAD. RAPAD also has a Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) with the South West Regional Economic Development Association (SWRED) as well as Desert Channels Queensland (DCQ) who are the peak natural resource management group for the Lake Eyre Basin in Queensland. Several of our RAPAD directors hold executive positions with the West Qld Local Government Association (WQLGA) & Local Government Association of Qld (LGAQ).
