Trained in the Australian Outback.... Ready for the World! The Australian College of Outback Tourism (ACOOT) is a governance and resource hub with the administration base located in Longreach. The project proponets of ACOOT are Australian Agricultural College Corporation - Longreach Campus, Department of Education Training and Arts and Central Western Remote Area Planning and Development Board (RAPAD). Links with university are currently being investigated. Our Vision World class education and training for the Tourism industries' current and future workers, utilising the latest technology, delivered in the beauty and freedom of the unique Australian Outback. Our Mission Through a partnership between Australian Agricultural College Corporation - Longreach Campus, Education Queensland Central West District Schools and Industry, ACOOT will deliver training through: Accredited nationally recognised training Partnerships between industry, schools, government, training and further education Dynamic and customised delivery Remaining future focused Embedding tourism into the school' cirriculum Coordinating tourism training opportunities Culturally embedding the role of tourism in our communities Promoting tourism as an exciting and rewarding career Developing a professional approach to tourism into the Central West

Our Vision All young people 13 to 19 years old in Central West Queensland have access to relevant high - quality career and transition support to develop their capacity for education, training and employment futures through Structured Workplace Learning, Career and Transition Support and Adopt a Schools programs, by facilitating innovative partnerships. Our Mission The central purpose and role of Outback Pathways & Careers Inc is to foster and support a range of quality Structured Workplace Learning, Career and Transition Support and Adopt a Schools programs that will engage the local community in the successful transition of all our local 13 to 19 yearolds to a productive adult life. Targeting Skills Needs in Regions - 2009/2010 RAPAD has been successful in securing funding through Targeting Skills Needs in Regions program (Department of Education Employment and Work Relations (DEEWR) of \\\$370 000 over two years for the Project Officer - Australian College of Outback Tourism.
This project will provide access to accredited training in Tourism and Hospitality through the Australian College of Outback Queensland. The project will diversify the range of training provided as well as enhance the quality of training available in Outback Queensland. Outback Central West Queensland - Skills Formation Strategy - 2009/2010 RAPAD has secured state funding through Department of Education training and the Arts for a Project Office through the Skills Formation Strategy funding. The Outback Central West Queensland Skills Formation Strategy will be designed to target the sectors of the industry where there is demonstrated need for improvement to build capacity to cater for future tourism growth.
